M y name is Darcy Keim. I am a Masters graduate in History (undergraduate: BA Hons - History and the Medieval World) from the University of Winchester. My academic  focus is Medieval and Early Modern Queenship (with an interest in the Aristocracy). Furthermore, my additional area of study is Gender History and Historiographical Analyses. Past study has also included Late Medieval Social History. My third-year undergraduate independent research was an assessment of the emergence of a Proto-Feminist "Anne Boleyn" from the nineteenth-to-twenty-first-century (under first, second, and third-wave feminism). In addition to this, my Masters research focused on the historiographical makeup of Medieval/Early Modern Queenship throughout the long nineteenth-century within collective biographies, artwork, and opera/plays. Meg Finlayson graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Classical Studies from the University of Winchester in 2018, with an MSc in Classics from the University of Edinburgh in 2019, and has recently completed their MLitt in Classics at the University of St Andrews. In their undergraduate years Meg ran the Winchester Classics Society and took on a role mentoring first year students in a range of academic skills as part of a Peer Assisted Learning scheme. Previous research projects include dissertations considering the use of artifice in Arrian and Plutarch’s literary portraits of Alexander the Great and the appropriation of heroic imagery in early Hellenistic royal portraiture. Meg’s research interests include presentations of power and construction of royal identity in art and literature, and the campaigns and reception of Alexander the Great. My name is Jess, I’m one of the graduate historians contributing to this blog, and I thought it might be nice to just write a few words to properly introduce myself. I know Saxon is writing a general introduction to us all and to this blog, but I wanted to let people know my specific interests and areas of past research, what fields of research I hope to progress onto, and where I eventually want to end up career wise. So, my areas of research; I’m primarily an imperial Rome kinda gal, with a specific focus on the Flavian emperors between AD 69 and AD 96, as well as gender studies within the imperial period, in particular looking at the masculinisation of female Christian martyrs and their presentation in later martyrologies.
